So what kind of jobs people choose to devote themselves to can be of great importance. Recently, an interesting discussion has arisen about which one is a better choice: a fun job with many challenges but less vacation days, or a job that is relatively boring but with more vacation days. As for me, I would prefer a job with challenging and interesting projects. I am going to elaborate my point of view in the following paragraphs. Firstly, a more challenging and interesting job enables people to tap their full potential and put their passion in it. The demanding tasks, unlike the boring and repetitive ones, could stimulate people’s morale and make them more enthusiastic about the job. In this way, with the fervor of what they do, the working efficiency is therefore increased. Take my colleague Lisa as an example, once she took part in a project with lots of challenging issues. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, she fully devoted herself to the project with great passion, being eager to solve all the difficulties. Secondly, one can enjoy a great sense of achievement by taking a challenging and interesting job. Even though we feel tired when working on a demanding job, after finishing it, we will realize our value. On the contrary, a less challenging job tend to be more monotonous, in which workers could lose faith in themselves and start to doubt their true capability. Jack Ma, the founder of Alibaba Group, is a good case in point. He devotes most of his time to a challenging job, which is to explore the new field of e-commerce. After several years of hard working, he established the first e-commerce platform in China and succeeded in expanding his business empire to worldwide, which has brought him a great sense of achievement. Granted, a job with less vacation days does have some negative impacts on workers. For instance, one will suffer from headache due to huge pressure and lack of rest. However, as long as an employee tries to abandon some unhealthy working habits such as sitting before a computer screen for a long time, and develop a healthy lifestyle with regular physical exercise, they will manage to minimize the bad sides of taking a challenging job.
