If you ask me to talk about a country or culture that I want to learn more about, I would say I would like to learn something about the United States.
The reason is that I’m planning to study abroad and considering living in a homestay family. In this case, I have to know some dinner manners and etiquette to get along with my homestay family; otherwise they would consider me rude and impolite.
Moreover, I need to learn some general knowledge of the country’s history, so I can understand better when taking history as one of the required classes in school.
