Your university plans to reduce expenditure recently, which clubs do you think the university should stop funding, sports clubs like skiing club, or academic clubs like math club? Please give reasons and details in your answer.
From my perspective, I prefer to cut funding for sports club rather than academic clubs. For one thing, sports club is way more costly than academic clubs. For example, to keep a skiing club running, the university needs to build a ski resort, which might cost millions of dollars. By contrast, academic clubs like math club don’t really need much to operate, only a meeting room for students to gather together and discuss is enough. Cutting off funding for sports club will definitely save a lot more money for the university. For another, academic performance is the key indicator of a university’s achievement. Therefore, academic clubs are more essential than sports clubs since they would significantly influence the overall ranking of a university.
